Coming in 2012...
This blog has been created to inform readers of my next book project, Golden Goddesses, which will profile 25 women of the golden age of Erotic movies - also known as the "porno chic" period. Throughout the process of co-writing John Holmes: A Life Measured in Inches, I became interested in the lives and histories of these women who made a conscious decision to work in the adult entertainment industry during the years when it was still illegal to perform and produce X-rated pictures.
During my quest, I discovered smart, candid, tough, funny, beautiful and diverse independent women who happened to select an unconventional career choice. It has been enlightening as a researcher and author to vicariously walk in their shoes. In my portrayals, I will be providing an overview of the entire lives of these women, beginning with their childhood years, throughout their careers to present day.
Our interviews produced interesting responses as each woman shared intimate feelings about her past and how her life today has been impacted - both positively and negatively. Performers, filmmakers, script-writers, photographers, make-up artists and costumers will be featured as all of these women are legendary in unique ways. The book will contain over 300 photos and film highlights, and will be presented in an oral history format.
